Has the Age of the Music Video come to an end?

What's your opinion on music videos? I feel like they're kinda becoming obsolete (within the American music industry anyway). Yes they do get substantial amount of views on YouTube. And there are some music videos that go viral and create points of discussion (e.g. This is America by Childish Gambino and Cardi and Megs WAP). But I feel like with TikTok and Spotify apps showcasing and spreading the popularity of songs more, I question the need for a music video. Let me know what you guys think. Be interesting to hear your thoughts.

This guy is a Phd and a lecturer at a university in Sweden. It looks amateur but technically, its professional work :) Having said that, I came across this guy a few years back and up to know its the best explanation for Design Patterns I have ever found. And I own several books on the matter :)
